Heritage Walk: The Mysterious Backstreets

This trail takes you through the meandering narrow alleys, which whisper the stories from past, old ruined splendorous palaces, myriad temples, busy markets, havelis (mansions), scenic views from beautiful balconies, architectural marvels…and from short rendezvous with localites till the emotional feelings of last rites at maha-shmashana or the Great Cremation Grounds. You will be mesmerized with this hidden sensuous nature of Kāshi, the original hub of art, culture, music, dance, education, philosophy & spirituality.

We will pass via unbeaten paths which lead to the ghats which have been witness of Bhakti- movement or the devotional movement in 16th century, ghats which are venerated because the pilgrims wash their lifetime sins and also sins from their all the previous births too.

Soul of Kashi: Traditional Banaras

A Jain-temple, belonging to Jain-religion (a very non-violent community), the biggest widow-ashram in the city, old ruined palace of King of Varanasi, traditional idol-making by Bengali artisans and so many such other attractions. Archaeological ruins, Buddhist monasteries and Dhamekh stupa from 3rd century BC till 12th century AD reveal you the history of Isipattana.

The Srilankan temple, where whole life of Lord Buddha has been painted on the walls, will leave you mesmerized. Deer park & 80 feet tall image of Buddha all provide a real peaceful atmosphere to be the place of meditation and deserves the compassion of Buddha.

Morning Boat-Ride

Boat-ride is one of the most essential activities to do in Varanasi. Boating in the morning starts with arti-ceremony or worshiping of Ganga, then ‘subah-i-Banaras’ which is live classical music programme at Asi-ghat every morning.
