Old city heritage walk review with Sachan walking tours. Sachan walking tours is run by Karan and it is the most well rated walking tour guide on a google search. That is how I contacted Karan. My brother and I were taken on a old city heritage tour by one of their team members, Nikhil Singh who was patient, well informed, well read and had answers to most of our questions. Trust their team to lead you through the old lanes of Kashi and you will be grateful! Nikhil was very patient even though it was an extremely hot day and we were out walking during mid day. We visited the flower market, thatheri bazaar, mainikarnika ghat to name a few places. Overall, please book them on your next visit to Varanasi. Also, Karan, despite being out of town was extremely forthcoming , generous and very quick to respond to any queries. Much recommended experience!

You won't find anyone better If you're looking for a guide in India, don't look further. Karan has gone out of his way to help me manage my way through omicron-struck India, and my search for a good university to study in India. He went with me to Varanasi and the whole omicron wave caused quite a bit of trouble for me, which led me to having to organize/call many institutions by phone due to pcr-tests, quarantine and all those kinds of things, for which he's been a great relief and help, moreso than I can even write down here. Since both his Hindi and English are very good (I'm dutch and my hindi is very basic), and he's familiar with both western and Indian culture, he could help me breach the language barrier (which was bigger than I had anticipated) and get things done. This also helped to get in touch and talk to students at the Banaras Hindu University to find out more about the course there, which was the whole intention of my trip. Also he told and showed me a lot about indian culture which helped me see India in a way I couldn't have on my own. Another thing is that since he's a local here, he will prevent you from getting overcharged. He is hospitable, organized (more than me), friendly, funny, intelligent/knowledgeable, earnest and above all, he loves to guide. A nice moment was when Karan asked a tandoori roti baker if I could hop on to the platform he was standing on, so I could peek over his shoulder to see how he made them in the oven (interesting process actually)... since he (Karan) knew I'm interested in food and cooking. I haven't done a regular tour with him, but I have no doubt it is equally as good.Karan, I wish you all the best and really hope you can go back to guiding full-time despite of all the corona stuff. Thanks for all your help.

Nice tours We were a group of 6 people from Mumbai. Karan organized everything well in advance. We did two of walking tours and morning boat ride. He is very well mannered, professional, knowledgeable and had lots of patience to answer all of our questions. Am not sure if Varanasi was same without him. Highly recommended. Thanks Karan to make our trip memorable.

Scholarly tour It was in the second week of March just before lock down was imposed in India. We were lucky to experience one of the oldest inhabitated towns of the world. Had a fabulous day with Karen and visited the back lanes, did boat tour and a short visit of Sarnath before departure. He has a lot of experience in art world and History. One need to experience himself to get so much of information from him. Just go for Sachan Walking Tour.

Very good & informative tours Had a great opportunity to see the city, Sarnath and local culture, people, myriad number of temples and so much with very knowledgeable guide Mr. Sachaan. We were lucky to book him in advance to be benefitted by him and his rich experience to show us. It was overall a very good day with him. (We did tours in February, 2020, sorry to post the review after so long). Success with your work.

A wonderful experience with a kind, knowledgeable guide I wrote a trip review for Karan after my trip to Varanasi in 2018. I went back to India at the beginning of 2020 (prior to the lock down) and absolutely had to go back to do another tour with Karan since we have kept in touch since my first trip. In my last review I stated how nice it was that I felt like I was leaving India with a new friend, and that has not changed. He is honest, kind, and extremely knowledgeable, and I cannot recommend his services highly enough. I place a lot of stock in who people are, and he is someone I value as a person. Separately, as a woman who frequently travels alone, I feel safe with him. This feeling is worth a lot to me, so I encourage solo female travelers to consider his services if they are looking for a tour guide. You will feel like you're being cared for by a friend and you will learn a ton about India in the process. I love learning from him.The next time you're in the northern part of India, do yourself a favor and book with him. He is well worth it.

A food tour, boat tour in Varanasi and tour of perfume capital of India - Kannauj Karan was everything and much more of what I expected. I have traveled the world and I usually dont take tours but in Varanasi I knew that I wont see, learn, hear as much as I would like to without a proper guide. As a photojournalist I have high requirements of what I want to see and this is the most hidden spots without any other tourists. Karan prepared a perfect tour in the city that fulfilled all the expectations! I needed a person that know every street, knows the story of the people living there and can answer any question no mater how specific or banal it is. I was so satisfied with his performance that I have hired him also as a producer, translator, fixer in the incredible Kannauj which was another unforgettable adventure!

Amazing experience If you are looking for a guide in Varanasi/India, stop looking. Karan is an amazing guide. His knowledge about Varanasi - and far beyond- is great! He arranged my pick up and drop off to the airport, escorted me to my hotel, took me for lunch, told me sooo much about Varanasi, India, Hindoism etc, took the walking tour, morning and evening boat ride....Couldn’t have asked for a better person to show me around. Really, don’t hesitate! Varanasi is the most wonderful place on earth and I wouldn’t have seen it the same way without Karan. Thanks again for the wonderful experience!

Varanasi walking tour We absolutely loved the walking tour. A friend highly recommended Karan to us, so we got in touch and he quickly replied and booked us for a walking tour around Varanasi. Karan was so helpful and have so much knowledge about Varanasi and Indian history and culture in general. Karan answer all of our questions and took us around places that we would have possibly never found without him. You can tell that he loves Varanasi and his country and he's more than happy to share all of his knowledge. Once we left Varanasi Karan kept making sure that we were OK texting and asking how our travel around India was going, and offering advise. Overall, the walking tour was an amazing experience that we will recommend, very enjoyable and interesting. 100% we will repeat it when we come back to Varanasi.
